Start with basics and low-cost fixing. Preserve enough untapped sources to cast early spells; a cheap land that always arrives late can cost you a turn.
- Keep basics as the foundation, especially in one or two colors.
- Check Command Tower and inexpensive pain or check lands against current prices.
- Use tapped duals selectively, and buy fixing for the colors your early spells need most.
